Support Staff and Fieldwork

Session details

Outdoor Education, Off site activities and Educational Visits are often used to enrich and enhance the curriculum by providing first hand experiences for young people.  These can occur both during and outside of normal lessons and school time, and can move from the classroom into the grounds and the local community before going much further afield.

The session will look at the logistics of Educational Visits and will cover the following components

  • Educational Objectives
  • Staffing Ratios
  • Behaviour and Group Management
  • Environment
  • Risk Assessment
  • Communications Systems

Please note that, due to the need to focus on specific steps/processes, this session is most likely to be suited to INTERNAL staff at BGGS
