Session details- Assessment that allows learners to lead their learning
Weighing the pig doesn’t make it fatter’! Assessment, too often, is used as a tool to only provide information to educators as to the progress of our students. Of course this is often crucial information. However, this session will outline the techniques by which educators can structure assessment to put the student at centre, to provide information that students can use to lead their own further progress with confidence and independently. Focussing on strategies that allow understanding as to where we are in our learning, to understand explicitly where we are going, and to lead the steps by which we can get there, are central to learning. This session will provide some practical tips on freeing students to Lead their Learning.
